A Sequel To The Friday the 13th Remake

A Sequel To The Friday the 13th Remake

The Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Biz Blog reports that New Line and Platinum Dunes are moving forward on a new Friday the 13th. Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, who wrote successful remake, are back for the sequel.

The next film is expected to be not a sequel so much as a follow-up. Jason Voorhees will be the villain, of course, but the new film is expected to use elements of the original franchise more as a jumping-off point than as a template.

I saw the movie a few days after opening night and I absolutely LOVED it. The movie was very well made, using has a template the first four movies of the franchise. Considering it was a huge success, I wasn’t surprise to see it coming back for a sequel.

Sam Jackson IS STILL Nick Furry

Sam Jackson IS STILL Nick Furry

It looks like Samuel Jackson has got himself a pretty sweet deal in the comic book movie genre. Marvel Entertainment signed him to reprise the role of Nick Fury, the leader of the espionage unit S.H.I.E.L.D. The contract looks to be for the character to be in nine movies including Iron Man 2, with an appearance in The First Avenger: Captain America, Thor and The Avengers.

He may also be the lead for a SHIELD movie and potential sequels.

Lot’s of people were disappointed when the rumor of Sam Jackson not being part of Iron Man 2 and The Avengers movie, looks like everything is settled now and everyone is happy. A SHIELD movie sounds pretty interesting to me. From how the whole organization started point of view.

Total Recall to be Remade??

Total Recall to be Remade??

According to the trades, Neal H. Moritz and his Original Films banner are in final negotiations to develop and produce for Columbia a contemporary version of Total Recall. The 1990 original featured Arnold Schwarzenegger and was directed by Paul Verhoeven.

If you have never seen Total Recall, it’s basically a man haunted by a recurring dream of journeying to Mars who buys a literal dream vacation from a company called Rekall Inc., which sells implanted memories. The man comes to believe he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony, where he fights to overthrow a despotic ruler controlling the production of air.

Total recall isn’t my favorite Schwarzenegger movie but still a great sci-fi / action movie. To remake this or any Schwarzenegger movies for that matter should be banned to do so. it seems that a remake is being announced or in the process of being green light every week !!!

What do think of Total Recall being remade???

New Title and Logo for New Moon

New Title and Logo for New Moon

MTV Movie Blog just got the latest Scoop on the Twilight sequel for Director Chris Weitz soon-to-film sequel Twilight.

Now called The Twilight Saga’s New Moon, the film’s official title art stays true to the look of the first movie while swapping in an orange tint, a subtle crescent moon, and the release date of 11.20.09.

The logo looks cool I guess, not much to say. What do you Twilight fans think about the new logo??

Dragonball Sequel Written And Ready To Go

Dragonball Sequel Written And Ready To Go

Although in North America, the Dragonball buzz isn’t has big has it is in Asia. With a huge lack of promotion here in Canada and the US, Asian talk shows seem to be talking nothing but Dragonball. With this said theres no doubt that FOX has intentions of already processing a second movie for the franchise. At least that’s what Evolution star Justin Chatwin claims when SciFiNow caught up to him and asked a few questions.

They already have the second script written. It’s really, really cool. The second one goes more into the whole legacy and the genealogy of Dragonball. It goes more in-depth into a real Dragonball series, the kind of intergalactic world of Dragonball.

This coming froma huge Dragonball nut, i was very against the making of a live movie. The last trailer did change my mind a bit, by being a bit open minded and not really taking in consideration the original saga. Even though a screenplay is completed for a sequel to the movie, this isn’t a confirmation that a second movie will be made. FOX didn’t greenlight the project yet. Only after the box office results, we will know.

Linda Hamilton in Talks for Terminator Salvation

Linda Hamilton in Talks for Terminator Salvation

Sarah Connor may be part of Terminator Salvation after all. The on and off rumor of Linda being part of the new Terminator project may be confirmed pretty soon by Linda her self.

We are talking,” Hamilton told the site. “I haven’t read it yet. I don’t know what direction they will go in.” She added, though, that we won’t see her as Sarah Connor on screen.

“My contribution would be voiceover,” she said. “I would probably be very happy to loan my voice depending on what the material is. Wait and see. They’re already writing it. We’ve been negotiating it.”

Fan’s who were fighting for Linda to have a part of the new Terminator flick may get their wish. Movies are made for fans to enjoy so why not !!

Wes Craven To Direct Fourth Scream?

Wes Craven To Direct Fourth Scream?

A fourth scream has been reported last month and it looks like it caught Wes’ attention. Bloody-Disgusting caught up with the man himself and he confirmed that the sequel is indeed under way.

“It would take it being really as good a script as the first one was,” explaining that he should also be compensated for his work on the franchise, “and the pay day reflects what I’ve done for that company and what I’ve gone through on Cursed (laughs).”

It’s always great to see the director back for another sequel of the franchise he helped build. What’s great about slasher films is that you can have multiple sequels and Scream was unique in its own genre. More news to come on Scream 4.

Meet The Little Focker??

Meet The Little Focker??

It looks like the second sequel to Meet The Parents has been officially confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. John Hamburg has been brought on to write the screenplay but the director of the two previous movies will not be on board to helm the third movie due to other projects.

The first one was such a great movie that I consider it to be one of my all time favorite comedies. The second one didn’t measure up to the first one but was still enjoyable. Can’t wait to see what goofy situations Gaylord Focker will be in this time !!

The film is expected to begin filming in the Summer or Fall of 2009.
