Puss….In Boots Gets a Writer

Puss….In Boots Gets a Writer

The puss that makes you go “Awwwwww” everytime he makes those eyes, finally got a writer for the stand alone spin-off called Puss In Boots. Tom Wheeler will be adapting a screenplay for the Dreamworks Animation project.

Chris Miller, who co-directed and co-wrote the third movie, wrote an earlier draft of the screenplay but got canned by the studio.

The third Shrek was absolute shit, I’m glad they got someone new for the project. I’ve never seen a project from Wheeler so it’s hard to say if he’s going to do a good job, but hey, Michael Bay started off doing car commercials and now hes making blockbuster hits. We never how this will turn out until we see it.

Predator to be Remade !!

Predator to be Remade !!

It seems that Hollywood is remaking/rebooting another cult classic from the 80′s. According to Bloody-Disgusting, Robert Rodriguez will be producing a new remake of Predator. A plot also revealed there would be more than one predator.

“In the reboot a team of commandoe’s face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters.”

No word on whether Robert will be directing or just producing the flick. To remake/reboot the first predator is forbidden in my book though. If they have the need to reboot something it should be predator 2, AVP or AVP Requiem. If Robert should direct the movie it will probably soften me up to the idea but it shouldn’t be touched.

MUST SEE!! Amazing World War Z Concept Art Images

This movie just screams out AWESOME. Dan LuVisis created some amazing tryout concept art for the zombie-pocalypse movie World War Z. LuVisis is still waiting for the call to be the official concept artist of the film but with the pictures he made I’m sure he will get the job.

World War Z will be directed by Quantum of solace director, Marc Forster. For those who don’t know, World War Z is a documentary of the zombie war years after the fact, collecting interviews with survivors to try to figure out what the hell happened.

A Fourth Resident Evil Anyone ???

A Fourth Resident Evil Anyone ???

Paul W.S. Anderson has finished writing a script for the fourth installment of the Resident Evil franchise. They are also trying to lock the beautiful Milla Jovovich to reprise her role as Alice. It also looks like Anderson won’t helm the fourth one, no word on who will be the director yet. The story will shift to Tokyo and some shooting will take place in Toronto (to front for Alaska).

I’m maybe one of the few who actually loves all three Resident Evil movies, so there’s no doubt I’m excited about a fourth movie. Their just pure entertainment pop-corn flicks. From what sources say, the fourth installment looks like its going to be a more darker action packed movie.

Are you guys excited about a fourth Resident Evil ??

Universal Hired Their Director for “The Thing” Reboot

Universal Hired Their Director for “The Thing” Reboot

Universal has hired Matthijs Van Heijningen to helm the remake of the 1980′s version of The Thing. The remake will take place in the Norwegian camp and it will examine how the mysterious shape-shifting alien was first discovered and overcame the inhabitants of that camp. Ron Moore will be writing the screenplay.

According to his IMDB, it will be his directorial debut and first english film. Hmmmmmm, I’m always a bit skeptical getting a newbie for such a big movie like this one. The other thing that bugs me is that their calling a reboot/remake. Why not call it a Prequel?? The thing never needed a reboot/remake and the plot seems more like a prequel.

What do you guys think of the move Universal did by getting an inexperience director for this film??

Exclusive Watchmen Photo !!!

We have an Exclusive Watchmen Photo thanks to the good folks at superherohype. It looks like the Viet Cong troops bow down before Dr. Manhattan in the process of surrendering (photo taken June 21, 1970).

Here’s a statement:

With the war in Vietnam over and America victorious, the gaze of The New Frontiersman turns to the home front. As a triumphant President Nixon looks to extend his political career beyond the constitutional limit of two four-year terms, The New Frontiersman is set to release articles, documents and footage leading up to the legislation that changed the face of America.

Warner Bros. To Reboot Lara Croft

Warner Bros. To Reboot Lara Croft

Warner Bros. and producer Dan Lin are teaming up to reboot the popular game adaptation, Tomb Raider. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that this reboot will be different from the other two movies that featured Angelina Jolie. The new flick will focus on the origins of the character, her love interest and of course the main bad guy.

A couple of days ago, there was a rumor about Megan Fox in th talks for the third installment of the franchise. I guess thats in the toilet since her management denied the rumors. A user from another movie blog mentionned Emily Blunt. I’m 200% down with her being the next Lara Croft.

EDIT: Just wanted to add this. There’s also the current franchise model, Karima Adebibe (featured in the pic on top) that there’s no doubt she would be great for the part, if only she had acting experience.

Who do you think should be the next Lara ??

Jamie Bell to Play Tintin and Daniel Graig Rackham

Jamie Bell to Play Tintin and Daniel Graig Rackham

Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment announced the start of principal photography on the 3D motion capture feature The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Jamie Bell and Daniel Craig.

Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced the start of principal production in Los Angeles on the 3D Motion Capture Film “The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn,” directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Jamie Bell (“Billy Elliot,” “Defiance”) as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig (“Quantum of Solace,” “Defiance”) as the nefarious Red Rackham.

Some pretty awesome casting news. Jamie Bell was the only great thing to come out of Jumper and he was great in Defiance. The sequel is scheduled to be directed by Jackson, with a potential for a third film as well.

The Dark Knight Sequel To be Released in 2011??

The Dark Knight Sequel To be Released in 2011??

New Jersey’s Courier-Post got news from batman begins and the dark knight executive producer, Michael Uslan, that he expects a third batman movie from Christopher Nolan to hit theater in 2011.

Uslan will be onboard as executive producer for the “Dark Knight” sequel, which he estimates will be theaters by 2011. As for the identity of the next round of Batman’s supervillains and love interests, Uslan remains tight-lipped. “It’s one of those deals where if I told you, I’d have to kill you,” he says with a chuckle.

I find this news to be very weird. Warner Bros said not long ago that they wouldn’t pressure Christopher Nolan, giving him all the time he wants for the movie. Now Uslan is saying to expect the third movie to be released in 2011. Hope they stick Warner bros on this one, giving Nolan the time he needs instead of a deadline.

Megan Fox May Be the Next Lara Croft

Megan Fox May Be the Next Lara Croft

In my opinion, Tomb Raider is the only video game adaptation that has succeeded compared to the other films. They may not be great movies but they sure are fun popcorn flicks and I enjoy watching both of them. With Angelina Jolie out of the franchise, who will replace her??

Europa Press (from Spain) reported that they are looking at Megan Fox to replace Angie for the third installment of the Tomb Raider franchise. They’re looking to shoot in 2010 with a release date of 2011.

There’s still no confirmation about this report or even if there is a third movie. I have mix feelings about this. Megan would look fucking hot in the “Tomb Raider outfit” but does she have the Tomb Raider physicality??

I will keep you posted on this news

Could There be a True Lies Sequel ??

Could There be a True Lies Sequel ??

Tom Arnold has been talking about a sequel for True Lies ever since the first one came out. After the sad events of 9-11, the project has been terminated (Cameron saying, Terrorism isn’t a joke).

It seems that the project has been resurrected for a possible sequel or something similar.

“If all goes as planned, the day Arnold leaves office, we will again team with Jim Cameron and do a comedy. Jim says it might not be called True Lies II, but it will be fun”, the comic tells the magazine.

We’ve been waiting for a sequel for so long and this news is pretty exciting. Although I’m not keeping my hopes up because of the “it might not be called True Lies II, but it will be fun”. I will keep you posted on further news.
