Iron Man DVD Review

Iron Man DVD Review

So today the Iron Man DVD came out and of course I had to buy it. I saw in another blog that there’s 8 different Iron Man DVD versions sold in North America. The one I purchased is the 2 Disc Special Edition Steelbook.

The first disc contains the feature film, with English, French and Spanish audio track. A couple of interesting special features like deleted Scenes which I enjoyed a couple of them, the trailer for the upcoming Iron Man anim TV series coming 2009 on the NickTOONS network. There’s also a couple of movie trailers. That pretty much sums up the first disc.

Second disc contains alot of great features. The first feature, which is one of my favorites, is a video diary of the “Making of” Iron Man movie. It’s about 2hours long. It starts with the suit concept, how to bring it to life ect. Next feature is called The Invincible Iron Man, which gathers the creator and everyone who worked on the comic book from the begining to now. Next, was how they made the visual effects, it was pretty cool to see and a screentest with Robert Downey Jr.

Last feature is an Image gallery, from concept art to production stills. Loved the images.

So to conclude this is defenitly a DVD to own. If your not into special features buy the single DVD, the movie itself is worth the money.

Transformers 2 in Imax

Transformers 2 in Imax

Director Mchael Bay will have at least three segements in Imax for the new Tranformers sequel.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is set to have at least three action setpieces shot in IMAX! Variety had the news today. The trade has an article on the effect the IMAX shots in the summer’s biggest film, The Dark Knight, has had on other upcoming blockbuster movies.

Here’s the exact quote, Michael Bay will film at least three action setpieces using Imax cameras for “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” which is lensing.

The first transformers had some pretty amazing CGI scenes with the robot, for example the fight scenes at the ending. To get some action scenes with the robots in the Imax resolution. The only thing that I hate with Imax movies is that the movie is in normal resolution (4:3, than just switches to Imax resolution and than goes back to normal. You guys must be thinking “Well, why doesn’t he just shoots the whole movie with the Imax camera”, the reason is that it would cost way too much.

Will you guys be watching the movie in a Imax Theater

Kirsten Dunst back as Mary Jane Watson

Kirsten Dunst back as Mary Jane Watson

About a month ago I gave you news that Tobey Mcguire and director Sam Rami was back for two more Spider-Man movies and no news about Kirsten Dunst. Not long ago, Kirsten told MTV that she would reprise her role has Mary-Jane Watson.

MTV News posed the big question to Dunst while she was promoting her upcoming film, “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People” with Simon Pegg. Is she in or is she out? “I’m in,” said the actress matter of factly.

I personally don’t like Kirsten as MJ, but it was a pretty done deal that she would return since Tobey and Sam both accepted to come back. There’s still no word if James Franco will be back or who will be the bad guys.

Sacha Baron Cohen arrested

Sacha Baron Cohen arrested

Sacha filming his next movie from his character in The Ali G Show, Bruno. In the process of making it, every one in awhile, Bruno pops up and raises a stir. Last week he publicly paraded his codpiece in Italy, by causing trouble on the fashion runways of Milan.

It seems he leaped onto a catwalk during Milan’s Fashion week and started doing his thing, refusing to get off when security asked him to. Not surprisingly, he ended up being hauled off by the police however, the Italians seem to have a pretty good sense of humor about the whole thing and various reports confirm that never actually filed charges. Bruno was right back out on the street, where he is no doubt already engaging in delicious journeys.

Actor Paul Newman dies at 83

Actor Paul Newman dies at 83

Sad news to report today as legendary actor Paul Newman finally lost his battle with lung cancer, passing away at the age of 83 in his Westport, Connecticut yesterday. With an impressive resume of films that includes Cool Hand Luke, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Hustler, Exodus and Road to Perdition, Newman officially retired from acting in 2007, and his fight with the disease was made public a few months ago.

Seems like 2008 is the year of tragedies. RIP Paul Newman. A truly great actor.

I’m really hesitating with this movie on, will it be good or not? This is Mark Miller’s directorial debut. Now Mark is know for his creation’s like 300 and sin city and many more. So for him to direct something for the first time with no experience is why im hesitating. Eva Mendes does look hot in this ;)

Russell Crowe, I’m sure alot will agree, is THE best current actor in hollywood. Leonardo DiCaprio is probably second or third best in my book. You put these two together in a spy / thriller movie, you get one hell of a kick-ass movie !!

New Valkyrie poster and trailer

New Valkyrie poster and trailer

The latest Tom Cruise movie about a WW2 officer plotting to kill Hitler. The poster looks pretty awesome. They could have done the standard closeup shot of Cruises face but is pretty stylistic. I love the way the red line running down the middle on a black and white picture. As for the trailer, the movie doesn’t look that great but it doesn’t look bad either.

I Am Legend prequel

I Am Legend prequel

After the success of I am Legend, Warner Bros. started planning a sequel to the movie. Yesterday I got word that they will be making a prequel. They want Will Smith back to play Dr. Robert Neville and Francis Lawrence to direct it.

I Am Legend shows how the plague started, and then skips years down the road after it’s already wreaked havoc on the world and left Will Smith utterly alone. The prequel would show what happened in between how the plague started and Will Smith being one of the last man standing.

Will Smith is probably the only bankable actor, so every movie that comes out starring mister Smith will be a box office hit. There’s no doubt the prequel will be a success. The idea of making a prequel, not so good. The reason why the movie worked so well is because they skiped all the panic / chaos stuff and got right to the point. They took us right away to the end of the world where theres just one  guy left, as where most zombie movies they start from the begining (briefly how the virus is made, people starts to panic and they finish with the end of the world full of zombies with a group of people that has to survive).

I am Legend was a unique zombie-esque movie, which on the prequel this will be ignored. So now they’re going back and telling the story of all the things which they skipped to make it good. What do you guys think of a prequel to this movie??

Captain Jack Sparrow is back

Captain Jack Sparrow is back

Johnny Depp has agreed to put on his tricorne hat one more time in a fourth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean. There’s still no word on what the plot is or if the other cast members have agreed to come back. Depp has also signed for two more Disney movies, Tonto in a Lone Ranger movie, and play the Mad Hatter in a Tim Burton take on Alice in Wonderland.

I loved the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, the other two were pretty much a snooze fest. So for me to get excited about a fourth one is very doubtful. I mean it may turn out to be good but judging from the second and third one, its hard to say.

Has for the cast, Keira Knightley (Elizabeth Swan) said that she wouldn’t come back to play miss swan if they were to make a fourth movie. Unless Disney gives a truck full of movie, we won’t be seeing her in this one.

What do you guys think about a fourth Pirates movie??

Notorious Teaser Trailer

Notorious Teaser Trailer

I’m really excited about this biopic about Biggie, one of the greatest rappers. This movie is coming out in January 2009, where we usually get is a Disaster Movie-level parody and maybe a bad thriller, so this movie has a chance to succeed at the box office but based on a teaser, its hard to say. Just have to wait a couple more weeks for a full trailer.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in Tintin??

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in Tintin??

Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are currently working on a live Tintin movie. No big news here. Simon Pegg was caught hanging out with Steven Spielberg. Here’s what Timesonline had to say:

According to the Timesonline Pegg has been hanging out with Steven Spielberg, and says Spielberg told him, “Hey, maybe you and Nick Frost could play the Thompson Twins,” in Tintin. Since like me you’re not one of the four people interested in this movie, you no doubt have absolutely no idea who the Thompson Twins are. Me either, but I have the internet, which helps tell me about such things.

When I first heard that Spielberg was doing Tintin the first guy I had in mind to play Tintin was Simon Pegg. Pegg teaming up with Frost to play Thompson and Thompson is an awesome idea. The Thompson twins are a pair of bumbling detectives in the Tintin universe. Who better to play the Thompson twins then the Pegg / Frost duo.

What do you think of this casting rumor??

Famous James Bond quotes not in Quantum of Solace

Famous James Bond quotes not in Quantum of Solace

One of fall’s most anticipated movies is without a doubt the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. With the huge success Casino Royale had, i’m pretty stoked about seeing the new Bond flick. I got news today that two of the most famous lines in the James Bond franchise has been been cut off. Did you guess what it is?? Yes, its the famous lines “Bond, James Bond” and “Shaken, not stirred”.

In this morning’s Oscarweb round-up, we linked to a story in London’s Independent newspaper about the upcoming 22nd installment of the James Bond franchise, “Quantum of Solace.” It appears director Marc Forster and company have opted to exclude the infamous catch phrase, “Bond. James Bond.” from the film’s script. Also getting the cut is the “shaken, not stirred” aside that we all know and love. It’s an unexpected departure that could have a few fans up-in-arms…or not.

This James Bond movie is different from all the others be cause its a continuation of Casino Royale. Usually Bond movies isnt consired sequels, so Quantum of Solace would be the first. I’m all for trying new stuff with a long lasting franchise, has long as they dont make it a habbit. For them to remove those quotes is no big deal for this movie. The movie will probably still be badass, from what I saw ;)

What do you guys think of this news??

Watch Michael Moore’s new movie for free!

Watch Michael Moore’s new movie for free!

Michael Moore announced that his new documentary movie would be free to download, has a gift to his fans for his 20th year of work. Today is that day. He’s probably the only person in the industry who isn’t in it for the money. His latest film Slacker Uprising can be downloaded on the movie’s official site for the U.S. and Canada.

As you may have heard, I’ve decided to make my new film, “Slacker Uprising,” available for free to everyone in the United States and Canada. It is the first time ever that a major feature-length film is debuting as a free download on the internet — legally. I am doing this for two reasons:

Next year it will be 20 years since my first film, “Roger & Me,” so I’d like to give those of you who’ve supported my work over the years a thank you gift in the form of a brand new movie; and I hope the release and wide distribution of this new movie will help to bring out millions of young and new voters on November 4th.

The movie can also be purchased on amazon for 9.99$ on DVD. To view the movie click here.
